Building a Daily Reading Habit at Home

November 3, 2026

Reading together every day is one of the most powerful things a family can do.

Start small: pick a consistent time, like after dinner, and keep books within reach. Let your child choose some of the titles — ownership builds excitement.

For younger readers, read aloud and pause to ask questions. For older students, try a family book club where everyone reads the same novel and talks about it over the weekend.

Most importantly, keep it joyful. Reading should feel like a treat, not a chore.
